Summer drink time officially begins June 1! Check out these thirst quenching and refreshing summer drinks just in time for the heatwave! Here are two of my favorite ways to quench a summer thirst. They are so tasty and refreshing.
I love to find unique glasses to serve in. The tall, thin glasses pictured came from the second-hand store Savers. I found a pair and they are perfect for sipping theses fruity, flavorful cocktails.
Both of the drinks could be served in most glasses. Try flutes or smaller, flared glasses – mix it up!
For those who don’t imbibe enjoy sans alcohol!
Pictured above is the easy to make and refreshing Orange and Mango Fizz. So delish!
To make, rub the rims of the glasses with an orange segment and then dip in sugar to coat. In a large pitcher (I put mine in the freezer for about 20 minutes before mixing) combine 2 1/2 cups sparkling wine, 3/4 cup mango nectar or juice and 1 teaspoon orange bitters. Yum!
Serves 4 in flutes, less in larger glasses.
This Grape and Gin cocktail includes a rosemary – infused simple syrup and is wonderful!
Begin by making the simple syrup. In a small saucepan combine 1 cup water, 1/2 cup sugar and 4 rosemary sprigs. Bring this to a simmer and remove from heat and let cool. Strain the syrup into a large pitcher and combine with 1 cup Concord grape juice, 3/4 cup gin, 1/2 cup club soda and 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice. Serve over ice and garnish with a rosemary sprig.
The flavor of the rosemary is incredible when mixed with the grape juice and the juniper-berry taste from the gin. Wonderful!
